Chief Arvol Looking Horse was born on the Cheyenne River Reservation in South Dakota. At the age of 12, he was given the responsibility of becoming the 19th Generation Keeper of the Sacred White Buffalo Calf Pipe, the youngest ever. He is widely recognized as a chief and the spiritual leader of all three branches of the Sioux tribe.

GENE:  "I had an idea when I started this project that there would be experiences that awaken parts of my soul that have been in slumber. Meeting Chief Arvol Looking Horse is one those experiences. I was never so humbled, at ease and in awe. I had the honor to visit Chief Looking Horse at his home, on the Cheyenne River Reservation in South Dakota. I experience his energy daily as being at his family's home was an experience of home for me as well. I will forever cherish talking with Chief Looking Horse and hope to return to the reservation someday, in gratitude and service for who he is for so many."
