What is '24 Peaces'?

24 Peaces is an artist's journey to inspire people to create peace through exploring its meaning with twenty-four peacemakers from around the world.

With the purpose of igniting our own individual ability to create peace, the artist GENE (Gene Jimenez) is conducting a series of twenty-four conversations with both preeminent peacemakers and a cross section of “every-day people” from diverse backgrounds and cultures. Through questions such as, “What is peace?” and “What does peace mean to you?” the artist seeks to reveal that the concept of peace can mean many different things and each of us has the capacity and responsibility to nurture and affect it. Additionally, GENE is creating twenty-four paintings based on the energy and content of these conversations. His unique energetic and vivid painting style intends to portray the creative possibilities for each person to use our world as a canvas to paint peace.

Project Update!

The '24 Peaces' project team will be traveling to film with peacemakers the following dates:

Jerusalem - Aug 6-12
Germany - Aug 13-16
New York City - Aug 18-20
Washington DC/Virginia - Aug 21-24

'24 Peaces' wants givers! We are seeking your donations. Not just monetary (which is more than acceptable!), but sellable items. Dvd's, old cameras, gold, antiques, etc.,. We will sell it and you get the write off! We are at a critical time in this awesome project and seek your help. By donating, you are supporting not only the completion of this project, but 24 more non-profit organizations! Really! Each peacemaker who participates will choose a non-profit that will receive a portion (1/25) of the proceeds from the project. Likewise, '24 Peaces' will continue supporting other artistic peace projects for the sake of peace in our world. You can't loose by giving!

PEACEMAKERS

The following is a list of well-known world peacemakers that have been recommended and invited to participate in the project. We are still early in our journey and unless noted, none of these may have agreed so far to participate. They are peacemakers with which we are familiar, but we encourage your suggestions of others--from all walks of life. In making your suggestions, we will greatly appreciate any direct contacts that you may have with them in support of the project. We are a very small production company (a collection of volunteers actually) and would love to speak to everyone. But unfortunately, our lack of production funds may prevent us from contacting some peacemakers even though they might be valuable additions to the project.

We will surely add or remove peacemakers from the list as we progress with the project. In no way does this list represent a judgment or disregard for the millions of peacemakers world-wide!
